The savoury aromas and flavours of Taloola make a delicious assault on your senses the moment you walk in the curiously decorated front foyer. There are many nooks and crannies to explore in this eclectic, incredibly unique, almost bohemian café. The clientele are just as vibrant as the walls and furniture too; the café is frequented by artists, musicians and everyone else that enjoys a slice of alternative pie.
The counter is staffed by pleasant and always smiling attendants who are ready to make a recommendation if you’re unsure of the strangely named menu. Part of the adventure of visiting another city is taking a leap into new cuisine and Taloola excels at this, whether you ask for a recommendation or point and order, you’re bound to receive a meal worthy of praise at a price that will leave you with more for later.
For anyone that desires a little less meat in their diets, the Couscous Delight salad is a top-notch decision. While couscous may be one of the more subtle flavours of this dish, the chick peas, raisins, pumpkin seeds and shredded carrot are in perfect balance with one another to create a scrumptious and rather filling dish. The vanilla-date dressing tops the fare in a way that manages to draw out the subtle undertones of a completely wholesome lunch.
Dessert is a tough decision, much like trying to decide which car to buy; it can take what seems like forever to choose the right way to push your calorie count up in the most decadent way possible. Taloola does not make this decision any easier with a vast selection of fruit shakes, chocolaty cakes, funky pies and other delicious dainties. Whether you’re a butter tart kind of person or a fig smoothie type, there is pretty much everything in between and based on what was sampled, it’s unlikely any of it could be considered a lemon. Well, aside from the lemon meringue pie of course.

Restaurant Review
If you’re up for recommendations; the Koolbassa Nova on Rye is laden with flavour from a variety of intriguing ingredients. Garlic-infused Polish sausage (high quality the menu proclaims, and it certainly is) is enough to tempt most meat-eating mouths. With the addition of sauerkraut, the right amount of aged white cheddar and perfectly toasted bread, what looks like a rather humble sandwich ends up becoming a delectable entry that must be tasted more than once to decipher.
