Sutton_Place_Deluxe_King_GuestroomNo wonder Hollywood has found a home at the Sutton Place when it heads North to Toronto. The Sutton Place was ground control for the Toronto International Film Festival this year, which is when I first noticed the hotel’s appeal to the filmmaking community. Having 92 Suites that are like mini apartments seems ideal for filmmakers heading to Toronto to film for a few months. Even being conveniently located to the most upscale and trendy place in Toronto, in the heart of Yorkville, has its merits to people in an industry that has to be seen at all the right places.

However, just passed the more overt reasons for The Sutton Place to gain such a reputation, someone who has travelled in Europe will see the hotel has that worldly understated elegance befitting of people who prefer sophisticated class to hob-knob trends.

The front foyer feels as though you may have transitioned from downtown Toronto to an upscale hotel in Geneva, Switzerland within a few steps into the front foyer. Decorated with marble floors, Sutton_Place_Executive_SuiteEuropean furniture and soft colours and lighting that make anyone feel pampered even before they have made it to the room.

Speaking of which, the suites are ideal for long stays, but the hotel has endeavoured towards quality as opposed to quantity, so you will see the rooms have plenty of room, high-definition flat screen TVs around every corner and a gorgeous view of downtown Toronto. The beds are plush and comfortable and should you be in the mood for a swim or some gym time before bed or before your day gets started, the exercise facility and swimming pool are perfect environments to unwind and get fit.

The Sutton Place seems to be more highly functional then many hotels for the corporate community as high-tech meeting spaces that are both luxurious and efficient provide an ideal location to discuss the utmost important matters of the day. After all, if The Sutton Place can be the headquarters of the high-paced ten days of the Toronto International Film Festival, then it most certainly can host your corporate function.

Sutton_Place_BoardroomPerhaps one of the most commendable aspects about The Sutton Place is its commitment to environmental efforts. This hotel is slowly being outfitted with all the most eco-efficient equipment to take care of both the environments needs and the customers. Perhaps what is so wonderful about The Sutton Place’s environmental policies is that the customer will more often then not spot the difference. Of course the coiled energy-efficient bulbs and recycle boxes are easy enough to spot in the rooms, but not knowing that the boilers

were all replaced to environmentally friendly systems that manage to keep the water as consistent as it was before while being less damaging to the eco-system is The Sutton Place’s most discreet brand of efficiency. Other aspects of their greening initiative are a twenty two point manifesto of implemented programs at The Sutton Place and can be seen on their website, which has earned them a four Green Eco-Leaf rating from the Hotel association of Canada.

A meticulously run establishment, The Sutton Place dedicates itself to the details. Even when the customer may be unaware of the efforts put in to effect, they always receive the benefit of it. This hotel has the elegance of Europe but conveniently located on Canadian soil.
