The Mount Royale Hotel in York is an exceedingly pleasing place to stay in one of England’s prettiest cities. York is a walking city with lots of sights to see along the way. The Mount Royale Hotel is a short distance from the city centre (approx. 10-15 minutes), to which you can enjoy a walk, or the front desk will call you a Taxi which are often quick to arrive and reasonable in fare.

As if Florence wasn’t beautiful enough already, slipping off the train platform and heading directly to the Piazza Santa Maria Novella you come across one of this city’s most spectacular and delightful places to indulge in a few nights rest and rejuvenation. Thoroughly impressed with Hotel L’Orologio’s bold and sophisticated décor, quality and standard, it was as delightful to spend my days exploring the birthplace of Renaissance as it was to return to my hotel suite every evening.
Hotel L’Orologio is the newest addition to the “Why The Best Hotels” chain of boutique hotels nestled across Florence. Anywhere that travelers congregate one of the following list of hotels exists: Hotel Santa Maria Novella, Grand Hotel Villa Cora, Hotel Balestri, Hotel Rosso23, Hotel Universo and of course the L’Orologio. You can check out all of the hotels websites from this direct location: www.whythebesthotels.com

If you plan of visiting Florence with an ideal of what Italy should look like and what the ideal place to stay might be then the Santa Maria Novella Hotel might just be the most ideal place for a traveler to stay. I have a tendency towards a little more adventurous options, but can see the comfort in having an expectation of what a city will have to offer and then having those expectations met. Plenty of fellow North Americans stayed at the Santa Maria Novella Hotel which lead me to believe that a level of comfort was to be had where travelers from a similar background could congregate and share stories of their daily adventures.

Where to stay: The King Edward Hotel – The Distinguished Edwardian Gentleman
37 King Street East, Toronto, ON M5C 1E9

The King Edward Hotel is one of those landmarks in Toronto not to be missed. A fantastic memory of how we were and still are linked to the British Monarchy, the King Edward abounds with large white pillars and a grand square entrance with a balcony reminiscent of a palace. An impressive painting of the King Edward the hotel is named after hangs in the lobby, and a certain regal air makes a customer feel they have just had a wonderful interaction with a great distinguished gentleman of days gone by.
