Press+1 was in attendance at a wonderfully horrifying event, now its eightly year, on October 15th in Calgary. Since founded in 2004, the annual 2011 Calgary Zombie Charity Walk commenced with thunderous grawls as countless undead participants invaded the downtown core  last Saturday afternoon.

The group marched and tripped in character from the Olympic Plaza starting point, and made their way down Stephen Avenue past Banker's Hall where Occupy Calgary staged their own political protest during the same time, under the 4th Street south bridge, then westward along the infamous Red (I mean Dead) Hockey Mile - 17th Avenue SW, finally reaching the finish point celebration at the Shaw Millennium Park at around 4 pm.

Young and old zombies dressed in their favorite deformed movie characters such as Santa Clause, pirates, nurses, prisoners, brides, plaque surviors, lumberjacks, coffee brewers, chainsaw killers, and other skeletal deviants. Even families wandered together with decorated carriages, samurai swords and other make-shift weapons.
All and all, it was a bloody entertaining afternoon for both the die-hards and unsuspecting pedestrians!
