SPOTLIGHT STORIES

CATHERINE ZETA-JONES ON BROADWAY

Having a musical theatre background, Catherine Zeta-Jones takes the stage in “A Little Night Music” in New York City. The romantic musical comedy also stars Tony Award-winner Angela Lansbury. The Broadway show had its first performance on the weekend. Celebrities such as Donald Trump and Kym Johnson, from "Dancing with the Stars," were in attendance.

JOHNNY DEPP WINS LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

At the Bahamas International Film Festival, Johnny Depp was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Sean Connery. Johnny Depp, named 2009’s Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine, continues to be surprised by his award wins, declaring, “The first thing I say is 'why?' I just go to work like anyone else, except my job is a little stranger. I'm still amazed I get jobs after all this time." His next film will be “Alice in Wonderland,” directed by Tim Burton. In addition, a fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie is in the works for 2011.

RICKY GERVAIS TALKS HOSTING GOLDEN GLOBES

British actor and comedian, Ricky Gervais is set to host the 67th annual Golden Globe Awards on January 17th. Although Gervais does not plan on being nasty or distasteful to celebrities in the audience, he explains he will target “Anyone who’s younger or thinner and richer and more attractive than me – that's the one I'm going for.”

Gervais may set up a Twitter page just for the event to connect with fans; “That would be fun.” However, he worries about accidentally offending someone. “I've got an iPhone, and I've got fat fingers. The spelling mistakes would be horrendous."

What can we expect from Gervais? Well, he jokes about having a drink or two. “Over the three hours, I imagine my tie's going to come off and I'll get drunker and drunker. I don't know what the last hour's going to be like, but the first hour will be watchable." Nominations will be announced on Tuesday for the Golden Globes.

SUSAN BOYLE POSTPONES CANADIAN VISIT ONCE AGAIN

The Scottish singer has cancelled her Canadian trip for the second time, due to time constraints. The record label already cancelled a previous gig in Canada, and replaced the November date with this December date. The “Britain’s Got Talent” performer will not be arriving in Canada anytime soon, and will re-schedule a date for the third time in 2010.

WHICH TEAM ARE YOU ON?

Levi Johnston versus Sarah Palin

The drama continues, as Sarah Palin is asked on Oprah if she invited Levi Johnston, father of her grandson, to Thanksgiving dinner. She replied by declaring, “It’s lovely to think that he would ever even consider such a thing” and extended an invite. Levi Johnston, who recently modeled for Playgirl, responded by saying, “A nice gesture, but she didn’t mean it.” He also added that dinner with the Palin family would be “awkward.” Johnston plans on filing for joint custody of his son. Is Sarah Palin trying to keep Johnston away? Or is Johnston an un-fit father?

ARE THEY DATING OR NOT?

Holly Madison and Benji Madden

Former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner, Holly Madison is currently rumored to be dating Paris Hilton’s ex-boyfriend, Benji Madden. The two serial daters have been spotted at a Starbucks together, and supposedly were flirting on Twitter. When asked about their relationship, Madison answered to People magazine that Benji is her “adventure buddy.”

Depp - So looking forward to Alice in Wonderland!
Gervais - I'm so looking forward to Ricky hosting the Golden Globes! He is at his best and most atrocious when he is in front of a live audience and improvising. :-)
Johnston/Palin - Ugh! I can't stand either of these two! Although Levi makes me feel nauseous more than Palin, so I guess by default I am on team Palin.
What is it with these Madden boys? They have some secret weapon that no other rocker boys seem to have for catching bunnies and socialite debutants!
