Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) will present the world television premiere of We Were Children (Eagle Vision /eOne/NationalFilm Board of Canada), a powerful documentary on the legacy of Canada's residential school system, on Tuesday, March 19 at 9:00 p.m. MT on APTN West, 9:00 p.m. ET on APTN East and APTN HD, and 9:00 p.m. CT on APTN North.

The 83-minute documentary will be available for purchase from the NFB the day after the telecast, at NFB.ca, on DVD or via download-to-own.

Directed by Tim Wolochatiuk and written by Jason Sherman, We Were Children tells the heartbreaking true story of Lyna Hart and Glen Anaquod, removed from their homes at the ages of four and six and forced to adapt to a strange, threatening new world in Canada's residential school system. Blending stunning dramatic storytelling with unflinching documentary narratives, the film gives voice to two children trapped in a system that would impact their lives forever.

We Were Children was launched this past fall at the Vancouver International Film Festival and the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival in Toronto. The film had its European premiere at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam.
